The First Edition Online Bookstore has the vintage Lewis Carroll Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There book for sale.  Lewis Carroll Through the Looking-Glass is the sequel to Lewis Carroll Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland that was first edition in 1865 that was not approved by Lewis Carroll and John Tenniel, and the first published edition for sale was issued in 1866.  This is the early edition of Lewis Carroll Through the Looking-Glass that was published by Macmillan in London in 1880.  This edition has 50 iconic Alice and other illustrations by John Tenniel.   This is the Lewis Carroll Through the Looking-Glass Second Edition published in 1880 the Forty-Seventh Thousand edition published before the third edition of Lewis Carroll Through the Looking-Glass that was published in 1887 that commenced with the Fifty-Seventh Thousand edition.  This is the rare and collectable vintage Lewis Carroll Through the Looking-Glass second edition book that was published just 8 years after the first edition book which was published in 1872.

The First Edition has for sale this very collectable children’s illustrated book, Lewis Carroll The Hunting of the Snark which has nine illustrations by Henry Holiday.  Published by Macmillan this is the 1906 edition (on the 30th anniversary of the first edition) in the attractive original red and gilt decorated binding.

 

The front board has a wonderful illustration and title for The Hunting of the Snark in red and gilt, and the back board is an illustration of a floating buoy with the words: “It Was a Boojum”; and the spine has the title of the book in gilt lettering.
